Why Christ IS
In the beginning......
We have all heard the story of how this all began. We hear about Adam and Eve with the apple bite, which sealed our fates (Genesis 3:24). We know that satan (lowercase "s" for a reason, of course) was the tempter of Eve and persuaded her to betray God's Will over their lives in a beautiful garden called Eden (Genesis 2:10). Eve disobeyed the one command given to them about what they could not eat (Genesis 2:17)
Today, we often see memes, quotes, posts, and even billboards about how it started. We live the results of each action of Adam and Eve. Although their actions changed the trajectory of mankind forever, God loved us enough for second chances (John 3:16).
If you don't know, there is one book that holds all the answers to fill in the gaps of knowledge about HIS Promises - THE BIBLE!!! (2 Timothy 2:15) Reading and learning more about a relationship with God, through Christ, brings a level of peace that is unmatched. Studying HIS word to know how to pray and what is expected from his commandments allows us the ability to strive toward being righteous. We can only strive to be more like HIM and will fall short of perfection, but isn't it good to know HE loves us STILL? God has allowed us grace and mercy and the ability to follow HIM into HIS eternal kingdom - with everlasting life. HE provided a way out of the actions of Adam and Eve, through a faith and belief in HIM, through our willingness to seek salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins, allowing the path to heaven. When Jesus Christ rose from the dead and returned to Heaven to sit on God's right side, he left a gift for us - the Holy Spirit. In this, we receive the gifts of a loving Father, Sacrifice for our sins, and Dwelling with HIM in our hearts if we invite HIM to be there. It is simple - HE came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
We get to choose to serve Him, love Him, and do His Will. We also have our own will, which can be a breeding ground for selfish ambition and gain, which can serve to overshadow His WILL.
WHY JESUS? WHY NOT? He is the Alpha and Omega...the Beginning and the End.....the MVP.....the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Times)...Our Abba Father...Emmanuel......Prince of Peace.....a Light in All Darkness....the list of descriptors is endless.
By accepting Him into your heart and seeking to be in His flock, you commit to love, peace, joy, and even the hardships that come from taking up your cross to follow Him. HE shouldered the cross for us and by displaying HIS name on our jerseys, like we do with the names of our favorite athletes, we showcase HIS messaging to the world....as He has a Plan and Path for your life....when you allow Him to be the center of your life.......THAT'S WHY!!!
