How WUJC Started
SHOULDERING GOD'S MESSAGE!!!
HOW IT ALL STARTED...our founder...
A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER OF WUJC...
For many years, the idea of having something representing Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Heaven Bound Salvation was at the forefront of my mind. The idea of having a team jersey for Christ was used in comments on social media when friends inquired about my favorite team and which team I was rooting for to win the Superbowl. I have often said, "If only people worshipped God like they do sports athletes." I even once wore a famous basketball team jersey to a Superbowl party and a few people thought I honestly didn't GET IT - IT'S THE SUPERBOWL!!! I get it and know that we are in an even bigger GAME OF LIFE and wish for life to be abundantly rich in less hatred, anger, and warring amongst mankind.
After thinking about what a jersey would look like for honoring CHRIST, I designed the concept of a WORLD being brought to its knees in homage and praise to GOD in a relatable way - through sports clothing. The World University of Jesus Christ WUJC was born in my mind almost three years ago before finally actualizing what was a mere concept, or so I thought. I have watched many people with funny hats in stadiums nationwide, faces painted, and carrying large signs with drawings to honor their favorite players. I have read the backs of jerseys with the last names of familiar people I have only heard about through my husband, Eric, and his friends. I have walked bravely among fans to the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood while holding season tickets, wearing nothing distinct from any team, and being questioned profusely about where my sports fandom-ship loyalty truly rests. I have simply said, "Hey, I'm the lucky winner of my husband's second season ticket today."
Sitting down at my computer one day, I typed out a concept of servitude to honor GOD, who has shown me many miracles. These miracles could in no way be by mere coincidence. It was God working the impossible in all areas of my life. Team Jesus, in my mind, became the conceptual idea of a collegiate and sports-themed honoring of HIM. The World University of Jesus Christ WUJC was born in my mind, first and then in discussions with my family. I then decided it was time to stop thinking about it and put the idea into action. How better can I serve HIM than through spreading HIS messages to others - TRUE DISCIPLESHIP!!!
I got to work drafting the idea and business plan, which was officially founded in August of 2023 (trademark pending).
With heartfelt prayers and wishes for blessings in abundance for all, I seek to add to the list of those who chase after their own salvation until HIS return.
HE shouldered the cross for us, and now we get to shoulder HIS name in messaging to the world!!!
